What's collected and what's not?

You can visit the public parts of our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information. While IP addresses (the Internet address of a computer) are logged to track a user's session, the user remains anonymous. Tracking IP addresses gives us an idea of which parts of our site users are visiting so we can enhance the navagability of our site. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. We also track which browsers are accessing our site so we can compile statistics on operating system (Mac/Win) usage.

We capture e-mail addresses only from those visitors who have:

  • purchased products from our online Order Form
  • downloaded a software upgrade
  • requested product support or information

    If you choose to download a software upgrade, you will be asked for other identifying information so we can ensure you are a registered user of one of our programs. At a minimum you must provide your name, product serial number and e-mail address.

    How is e-mail information used?

    The e-mail addresses we collect are used to send you information related to product upgrades, new products, and other Ars Nova news. We never sell, rent, or loan our e-mail lists to outside firms. If you'd like to be removed from our e-mail database, please e-mail Ars Nova to that effect.

    What levels of security does Ars Nova have?

    Ordering pages that require credit card and personal information are secured using a Thawte security certificate. If you are concerned about sending credit card information over the Internet, please use one of these three alternative methods of ordering:
